This month brings a refreshed Blueprint experience with updated documentation, data contract quality annotations in the Data Product Builder, and a revisited Stewardship module for roles and responsibilities. Data product owners can define quality rules on the contract to monitor products over time; platform teams get clearer blueprint discovery, and builders can export port schemas to CSV for offline editing and re-import.
New Features
-
Blueprint redesign and documentation: The Blueprint catalog and detail pages have been redesigned for clearer navigation between versions, the Documentation tab, and Parameters from the manifest. Guides were refreshed for repository layout, the Blueprint Manifest, registration, publishing, and instantiation—so platform engineers and blueprint consumers can move from catalog to Git output with less guesswork. Data contract quality annotations (ODCs): In Blindata, the data product descriptor (DPDS) is your data product contract—identity, ports, governance, lifecycle, and more. The Data Product Builder is where you author that contract in Git. You can now add data contract quality annotations aligned with the Open Data Contracts (ODCs) specification: attach quality metadata on the contract so data product owners can declare data quality rules to monitor products and express expectations alongside ports, schemas, and DevOps configuration. Edit annotations in the Builder, run policy validation before save, and keep contract quality versioned with the rest of the descriptor. Edit a Data Product Descriptor
Other Key Updates
-
Stewardship: redesigned roles and responsibilities experience: In April we extended stewardship dashboards (coverage, gap analysis, raw export). This month we revisited the core Stewardship pages—listings, role and responsibility management, and search—with a new UX, layout improvements, and richer filtering so governance teams can find assignments, update responsibilities, and navigate roles without fighting the old UI. -
CSV export from the Data Product Builder: You can now export output port schemas to CSV (tables and columns) from the Builder, in addition to the existing import flow—enabling a full round-trip: export the current descriptor schema, edit offline, and upload again through the CSV wizard with validation and a summary before changes are applied.
